Cobourg Beach

On a beautiful sunny day in the summer of 2019 we went to the beautiful Cobourg beach. Cobourg beach is located on the North shore of Lake Ontario halfway between Toronto and Kingston. It takes about an hour east of Toronto along 401. To reach there, you can take any of the Go stations near you and get off at Oshawa Go station. From Oshawa you need to take the VIA rail up to Cobourg station. The fare from Go train to Oshawa will vary depending on your location but the fare of VIA rail from Oshawa to Cobourg : Escape class: $20.00, Economy class: $25.00 and Economy Plus: $40.00.
We started our journey at about 10.00 am in the morning to enjoy a full day beach activity. It took us 1 hour from our house at Scarborough to reach Cobourg town. We packed our lunch, fruits, chips, water, towel and a ball to have a great picnic by the beach. The beach offers many services including: picnic areas and tables, canteen, washrooms and change rooms, 2 playground and splash pad, foot bath area and a fenced basketball court. All the activities are free except the parking. Parking rates at the Beach for pay and display and metered areas is $2.00/hour.
After reaching the town we parked at the marina near the beach. The sidewalk beside the marina leading to the beach is very picturesque as you can see many boats lined at the shore. You can see the iit my youtube video, the Cobourg beach Marina. The sidewalks are also decorated with flowers and trees. On the beach we first picked a spot to settle all our stuffs. And then without any delay we plunged in the cool water of the blue Cobourg beach. The beach was clean and though there were many people in the weekend but it wasn’t over crowded. In the hot sunny day the temperature was just perfect to enjoy the water. There are some lifeguards on the beach also to make your whole experience a safe one. After enjoying the water my son, Aayan started making sand castle with his bucket and spade. My wife also joined him and together they somehow made a pyramid but not castle. After some lazy activities we ate some apples and started for a football game with my son. You can watch in my vlog our football game to see how I amazing it was. I enjoyed our game by the beach which made me both tiring and hungry.
We then all went for the water one last time and retreated to change our wet clothes. There is a footbath and splash pads to remove the salt from your body before changing. The changing rooms and splash pads are all very clear and well maintained. After changing our clothes we took our lunch at the canteen. Since we already packed our lunch from home so, here we just bought some drinks. And to finish off with desert we had ice cream from an Ice cream corner at the town.
After a full of fun and activity day we started off for home with smile in our faces and a great satisfaction.
The Cobourg city has many parks, trails, conservation areas and a Victoria park campground. If you want to stay here for the weekends then go to my website for the links of the hotels and you can even book for your stay to have a great short vacation in a planned way.

Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is an alpine ski resort in Ontario, Canada, on northwest of Collingwood. Built up in 1941, the ski resort was later changed into an all year resort in 1977. From 1999 to 2007, the retreat was under the larger part responsibility for. During its possession, the hotel experienced significant remodels including the establishment of fast lifts, and another private town at the base of the retreat. The retreat is claimed by Alterra Mountain Company after it purchased Intrawest in 2017.
Blue Mountain Resort and Village have a wide assortment of lodging and condo housing. All are spread out along the base of the mountain or inside the Blue Mountain Village. Blue Mountain as a hotel includes a bus transport administration, giving visitors foot access to the whole mountain, just as simple access to the different Base Lodges and chairlifts. A few retreats situated in and by the town are, Blue Mountain Resort, Embarc Blue Mountain, and Westin Trillium House
I have traveled there in the winter of 2020. The distance between Blue Mountain from my house is 170 km. It took me approximate 2 hours to reach there. The road to blue mountain was very scenic specilly near the end when you are entering the small town and can see the top of the mountain and the small town beneath it. I went there by my Car. I put 30 liter fuel. I did not need that much fuel. I started my journey in the morning and I have taken some food and fruits for launch as well as some snacks. I went through the highway when I was going toward Blue Mountain. I took Regional road for come back. My son and I enjoyed some rides over there and it was a great adventure. We did the Mountain ridge coaster runner which was a superfast coaster that ran through the side of the mountain travelling through forests. We also planned to do snow tubing but due to super cold our feet became numb and we started frost bite. So, had to discard that idea. If you want to do the real adventure, Blue Mountain is the perfect place. If you want to do skiing or snowboarding you could rent the gears from them. They have several memberships offer .If you need it you can get it done by online. Parking is free but sometimes it takes a long time specially in the peak seasons. It was my day trip but I enjoyed the evening lighting if anyone wants they can stay overnight. The blue mountain resort is surrounded by a small village which has many good restaurants including some halal options too. There is pita pit and some other restaurants serving halal chicken options. After dark the lighting of the village makes the whole village like a movie setting. It’s so romantic to walk through the lighted pathway of the village.  Blue Mountain has lot of resorts. I am giving some resort list for your convenient. If you go with child, you must carry snow pant and jacket as well as some pair of socks. Even though the resort has renting options of everything from snow gears to even socks. You can check the price of the ride their web site. I have made a video about my blue mountain tour. If you are want, check me out at YouTube.
